The blade is forged from Japanese AUS 8A stainless steel, a high-carbon, low-chromium stainless steel containing elements such as nickel, vanadium and molybdenum. It is wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, and has excellent strength and toughness. After low-temperature heat treatment, the hardness can reach about 58-59HRc.
